COTA Forum on Transport Infrastructure Investment at the 22nd COTA conference International Conference of Transportation Professionals
(CICTP 2022)
Purpose: COTA (Chinese Overseas Transportation Association) International Conference of Transportation Professionals (CICTP) series is one of the most influential academic gathering that brings transportation researchers, and professionals in China and overseas together and provides a premier forum for issues in the fields of transportation technology, management, and policies. It is a tradition for CICTP series to have a dedicated session or workshop that focuses on practices of international originations and how they are helping to address critical issues and challenges such as climate change, poverty, and social development through transport investments and knowledge sharing in China and other developing countries. Historically, this event has been jointed organized by the World Bank and COTA. CICTP2022 expands this effort to include more organizations and broader perspectives. Central South University, and co-organizer of CICTP2022, has a large number of international students from many developing countries. The forum also provides a valuable exposure for them to important transportation investments and policy issues that are close to their needs including transportation workforce development.
Forum Description: This year, the forum focuses on the impact of transport investments on developing countries and how such investment, and related policies help addressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, social development and workforce development in transportation sector. Panelists are from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and other international subject experts. . The Dean of the School of International Education, Central South University, is also a confirmed panelist of the forum.
